RICARDO CARBONELL
b. CIUDAD DE MÉXICO, 1975

For over 20 years I have been working as freelancer for companies and agencies on  advertising and editorial photography, also as creative director I projected the image of international  campaigns as well as various brands.  Later on I had learn and develop skills  in production, cinematography and post-production generating projects for television as well  as digital media.
I began in photography as an assistant to the Maestro Jesús Sánchez Uribe in México City (2000), specializing my practice in art reproduction. I have studied Marketing and  Advertising, starting my formal training in photography while attending to workshops at the ICP  International Center of Photography (New York), I have also been mentored by photographers such as Alex Webb (Magnum), Jerome Sessini (Magnum) and filmmakers like Walter Murch, Matt Chesse, Dean Cundey (asc), Douglas Spotted Eagle, Rene Castillo, Raul Rodriguez Cabrera (EICTV/Cuba) among others.
During the last 18 years I have combined teaching with my commercial practice in still photography and video projects. Collaborations: Fashion Week Mexico, Isabel Marant, National Geographic, Draft gastropub, Piccola Italia, La Encomienda, Casa de Sal, Entre Tierras, El Arraigo, Intro, Hackel, El Mural de los Poblanos. Clients: Grupo Síntesis, Gran Bodega, Frescura, Coopertires, Flying Wheels, La Textilería, Africam Safari, L'Oreal, Lala, Santa Clara, Oxxo, Partido Acción Nacional, Nueva Alianza, Encuentro social, Infonavit, Mexico City Government, NBC (Hawaii) among others.
Throughout my career I have kept up to date with new technologies, testing equipment for Canon Mexicana and always  aware of the contemporary photographic trends, incorporating them into my work as creator and teacher. 

Currently living and working in Germany. 
Also academic coordinator at f64 Audiovisual Training Center.
